The Widows' Friendship Group

I look forward to the second Wednesday of every month when I meet up with sometimes as many as ten other widows who share the same experience of having lost a loved one.

We gather at Pauline Berryman’s home for a light lunch, and much-enjoyed conversation on all topics of current affairs. Because we all share a similar loss , we know and understand each other’s feelings and therefore find it comforting to know that we are not alone. The help and support we give each other is immeasurable. We are able to share advice and guidance. It is by no means morbid, but a lot of fun, and an overwhelming gratitude for life prevails.

We were called the ‘Widows’ Soup Group’ but we are now known as the ‘Widows’ Friendship Group’ – we seem to eat a lot more than soup!
