Tower and Town, November 1992Family NewsWe send our VERY BEST WISHES to two of our most lively younger folk who have gone to University. HOWARD GILBERT has been settling in at Southampton University and is reading Mathematics with Physics. JUSTUS HINKS has gone to New College, Oxford to read Engineering Science. GERTIE BEASANT worked at The Castle and Ball, and as a dinner-lady at St Mary's and St Peter's Schools. Her signature tune was 'Bless This House1. She is much missed at The Priory. NANCY STARNES, who worked for 16 years at The Little Shop, was lovingly cared for by her grandson Derek for the last two years of her life. CHANGES OF ADDRESS often lead to erroneous assumptions about those who have moved. So - (not 'St' as on page 11 of the October issue ! Sorry, John Sargant!) - would all and sundry please NOTE that the OLIVERS - i.e. HEATHER MACMILLAN, LAURENCE OLIVER and Messrs WILLIAM and DOUGLAS are back at 2, ELCOT CLOSE, Marlborough SN8 2BB. Their telephone number is now 0672 511932. They moved from The Priory at the end of April 1992 when HEATHER took up an appointment as a Psychiatric Social Worker in Oxfordshire. Her successor as Warden of The Priory Is KATHY KNIGHTS, who was Organiser of the Jubilee Drop-In Centre for the Elderly. She, with her husband TIM and their three daughters are at No 1 The Priory, High Street, SN8 1LW - tel. 0672 512121. Best wishes to BARBARA BUGDEN, of 3 West Manton and St George's. Barbara had a fall in the summer, and has gone from Princess Margaret Hospital to The Laurels Elderly People's Home, Badbury. Best wishes, too, to Barbara's mother MRS PARSONS who lives very cheerily at Coombe End House in Marlborough. We somehow missed the chance to say goodbye properly at St George's to ROSEMARY DOWDING, who moved to Alton Priors in the summer. So it is nice to find that Rosemary is a near neighbour there to SHEILA NUNN. Baptized
