He also served the Maurice family at Manton Weir for 42 years as gardener, cowman and general agricultural worker, faithfully adapting to changing needs. He is remembered as !a very faithful, reliable arid conscientious retainer, loved and respected by all the family.

Retirement

Dear Contributors
I am writing to thank you all for your very kind gift to me, on my retirement from tending the Church Garden. I have bought a nice pocket lighter, suitably inscribed, which will be a constant reminder of my work.
Yours sincerely,
Jack Whiting
