Old friends from St Mary's Church and the Scouts have been wondering about Joan and David Cowley since they moved from their home in George Lane. Are they living nearer their son or daughter? If anyone is in contact with them please give them our very best wishes. Suzanne Gough died while on holiday in Jersey. She had a long spell in hospital about a year ago but was recovering well. She was born in the Children's Hospital, now St. Lukes, because her mother was a nurse there. Matron Harrall was her godmother. She and her late sister, Margaret, grew up in Marlborough. Starting at St Mary's Infants' School she became lifelong friends with Janet Biggs (Palmer) and Rosemary Cooper (Dobson). She trained as a teacher at Weymouth College and taught in Swindon, finally as Head of Ferndale Infants' School. She sang with the Kennet Singers for 24 years and did an annual comedy sketch with Janet as part of their show. She was a member of Lockeridge 60+ Club.
