Tower and Town, December 2016(view the full edition)      An Interview With Past PupilsAs part of our topic, we were fortunate to welcome two visitors; David Chandler and Carol Moylan, who were past pupils of St. Peter's and David attended the Grammar School. We had the opportunity to interview them, asking questions about what our school and the building was like when they attended. We found out that, internally, the layout of the building had not changed too much. However rooms within the building had altered in terms of usage; for example, in David's time (1940's), the current staffroom was the library and our classroom (Skylight) was the science lab. In addition, we found out that there were once a few outside classrooms that housed woodwork lessons. These are now demolished. During our interviews, we discovered that the content of our school day and that of David and Carol's when they attended St Peter's, were very similar. For example, when Carol was here (1960's) she recalled participating in assemblies, maths lessons as well as reading and writing lessons. We thoroughly enjoyed finding out about St. Peter's in the past and we would like to thank David and Carol for taking the time to share their memories with us. Year 5 Skylight Class |
