Tower and Town, September 2023 (view the full edition)Family NewsMary Allsop died peacefully in June this year. She was a very loyal member of Christchurch in Marlborough for the last thirty-plus years attending every week when she was living independently. She had been living in Merlin Court for the last twelve months and was a valued resident who still enjoyed a quiz or two. Mary was a special friend to many and this spanned all generations. She was formally a teacher at St Mary's infant school and her past pupils remember her with affection as do her friends from the staff room. Mary leaves two daughters, Avril and Alison, as well as their partners Richard and Bob, along with her brother Paul and his wife Mary. A celebration was held at the golf club on the common which was the venue for Mary's numerous parties. Mary loved life and we loved her. She is now with her Lord and reunited with some of her many friends who went before her. Naomi Painter |
